Abstract: Depression is a common recurrent psychiatric disorder,which has severely affected quality of human life. So far,the pathogenesis of depression is still unknown and awaits clarification. This paper is a summary of the pathophysiology and animal models of depression,and provides reference for the treatment of depression and the evaluation of antidepressant drugs.
