Abstract: It is known that atherosclerosis is the pathological basis of ischemic cerebral apoplexy. A large number of studies suggest that plasma lipoprotein-associated phospholipase A2(Lp-PLA2), as a new inflammation factor, plays a role in the development of atherosclerosis, and it is a independent risk factor for cardiovascular and cerebrovascular disease. This review summarizes the relationship between Lp-PLA2 and the ischemic stroke.

Key words: plasma lipoprotein-associated phospholipase A(2 Lp-PLA2), atherosclerosis , ischemic stroke
